DESCRIPTION:2017 Jenckles Closing Argument Sign Ups\nCompetitor Sign Up »\nVolunteer Sign Up »\nImportant Dates\nPreliminary Rounds: 5:15-9pm\, Monday\, October 2nd – Tuesday\, October 3rd\nSemi-Final Rounds: 5:15-9pm\, Thursday\, October 5th\nJenckles Cup: 5:15-9pm\, Friday\, November 3rd \nAbout Competing\nJenckles is a great way to develop your public speaking and critical evaluation skills. Additionally\, you’ll also get feedback from judges\, who are experiencing practicing local attorneys. If that’s not enough to entice you\, those that do well can win money\, awards\, and a chance to represent Arizona State University against the University of Arizona for the coveted Jenckes Cup! \nYou and a teammate (you can register with a partner\, or let the Moot Board match you up with another individual) will give a 15-minute closing argument based on a closed case file. No additional research is required. \nMore info and tips are available on our Internal Competitions page. \nIF YOU SIGN UP\, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO SHOW UP! If you don’t show or if you cancel without adequate notice\, unless there’s an emergency\, you will be banned from competing for 1 year. \nCompetition Max Limits: (First-Come\, First-Served) The sign up will close when we have hit the max. This is strictly first-come\, first-served. No preference will be given to any year. Max of 60 competitors (in 30 teams of two competitors each). \nIf you compete\, you cannot volunteer as well. You must choose to either volunteer OR compete. \nAbout Volunteering\nVolunteering to be a timer or client for this competition is a great way to observe others compete and hear the feedback they provide to competitors. You can see what competing in a Moot Court Competition is like with no risk! \nPreliminary rounds will be held on Monday\, October 2nd\, and Tuesday\, October 3rd\, and the final round will be held on Thursday\, October 5th. If you sign up\, you are committing to the entire evening: 5:15pm-9pm. We will provide you with dinner\, a short break\, and our endless gratitude. \nCompetition Max Limits: (First-Come\, First-Served) The sign up will close when we have hit the max of 7 timers.
