DESCRIPTION:Important Dates\nPreliminary Rounds: February 1st and 2nd at 5:00pm-9:00pm\nFinal Round: February 4th at 5:00pm-9:00pm \nLocation: Remotely over Zoom \nAbout Competing\nPractice important oral advocacy skills by giving an appellate oral argument as petitioner or respondent. Receive valuable feedback from practicing attorneys on how to improve as future counsel. Competitors: You will give a 10-minute oral argument for a fictitious case. Petitioners can reserve time for rebuttal at the end (1-2 mins recommended). \n1Ls: This is a great competition because you can practice for your final graded oral argument in Legal Advocacy! \nMore info and tips are available on our Internal Competitions page. \nIF YOU SIGN UP\, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO SHOW UP! If you don’t show or if you cancel without adequate notice\, unless there’s an emergency\, you will be banned from competing for 1 year. \nCompetition Max Limits: (First-Come\, First-Served) There is a limit on competitors. This is strictly first-come\, first-served. No preference will be given to any year. \nCompetitors Sign Up HERE! \nIf you compete\, you cannot volunteer as well. You must choose to either volunteer OR compete. \nAbout Volunteering\nVolunteering to be a timer for this competition is a great way to observe others compete and hear the feedback they provide to competitors. You can see what competing in a Moot Court Competition is like with no risk!
